Sven-Goran Eriksson is still pondering over who will make his final World Cup squad, but be assured one England squad is confirming names by the day. Preparations for England V Germany: The Legends, are in full flow and more names have been confirmed for the highly anticipated football event in the run-up to the FIFA 2006 World Cup.

Day by day more celebrities are signing up for the epic tie and England V Germany: The Legends can announce that Sir Geoff Hurst, scorer of three goals in the 66 World Cup final will be making a cameo appearance on the field and managing the team with Sir Bobby Robson.

Legends can also announce, former F1 racing champion Damon Hill confirmed for England. Other additions to the team include Football Factory/ The Business actor Danny Dyer, ex footballer Jamie Redknapp, musician Richard Ashcroft, rugby star Matt Dawson and MP and journalist Boris Johnson.

Nancy Dell'Olio attendance has been confirmed and the England football managers partner will also be part of the trophy presentation party.

Nancy Dell'Olio, British Red Cross Ambassador said: "I am thrilled that England V Germany - The Legends is supporting the work of the British Red Cross. It is set to be a fantastic event and the money raised will go towards the vital work of the Red Cross, responding to emergencies and caring for vulnerable people in crisis in the UK and overseas."

Former 1990 German World Cup winning captain, Lothar Matthaus, has been confirmed in the German line up alongside German tennis legend, Boris Becker, and ex international footballers Thomas Helmer, Steffen Freund, Stefan Kuntz, Bernd Wehmeyer, Helmut Haller, Karlheinz- Riedle, Klaus Fischer, Martin Kree, Michael Strempel, Michael Preez, Olaf Thon, Stefan Reuter, Uwe Bein, Zott Wilhelm and former world record high-jumper Carlo Thränhardt. Oscar nominee and musician, Herbert Gronemeyer, has been confirmed to appear in the game for the German side.

Players already confirmed for the England squad include, Paul Gascoigne, Chris Waddle, Graeme Le Saux, John Barnes, Paul Merson Lee Sharpe, Ray Wilkins, Chris Woods, Neil Webb, Les Ferdinand and Matt Le Tissier. Alongside the many ex England footballers include English sports stars like Rugby World Cup winner Lawrence Dallaglio, boxing-ace Nigel Benn, cricket player Alec Stewart, and also actors Sean Bean and Rupert Graves.

England V Germany: The Legends, will be a full 90 minutes of competitive football, with 11 players on each team and a fully qualified FIFA referee. Forty years ago the great Bobby Moore captained England to victory at Wembley and gave England its most important football moment ever. Now the two countries meet again to celebrate that historic occasion.

England V Germany: The Legends will take place at the Madejski stadium, in Reading, and will be broadcast live on Five on May 3rd. The show is being co-produced for Five by TWI, Toast and Guerrilla. Our charity partners are the Red Cross and The Bobby Moore Fund, which was established by Stephanie Moore MBE in partnership with Cancer Research UK to raise money for research into bowel cancer in memory of her husband Bobby Moore who died of the disease aged 51.
