The Lions Roar

2006: A World Cup year can only mean one thing...

...a new England World Cup song!

Devised and delivered by die-hard England supporters ‘The Lions Roar’ is truly a song for the fans by the fans. It is time, once again, to forget the embarrassment of the Spice Girl’s rendition of ‘On Top of the World’ and Ant and Dec’s ‘We’re on the Ball’ – we need something that has that same gutsy, lager-fuelled energy of
‘Three Lions’, ‘Vindaloo’ and ‘World in Motion’ all rolled into one!

This is ‘The Lions Roar’, an anthem ready for the terraces, set to become the fans’ favourite. It will be blasted around the Berlin Olympic Stadium on 9th July 2006 when England lift that golden trophy…

The song is written and produced by Andy Mudd and Barry Sullivan, and co-performed with pals Ray Fensome on guitar and Lee Watson. Andy said: “We all love our football so we wanted to write something that could bring the nation together as one to support England in this year’s World Cup.”
