Prowess is a network of organisations and individuals who support the growth of women's business ownership. Their work encompasses raising awareness, sharing of best practice, advocacy and information. Their excellent website includes inspirational case studies of successful business women, top tips for success and plenty of research to help you fast-track your own business success and help others to do the same. Prowess also provide networking events and business development services to provide offline support as well as online.
Prowess has over 220 members who support 100,000 women each year to start 10,000 new businesses which contribute an additional £1.5 billion to the economy.
The Prowess Awards celebrate the women business owners who are giving a hand up to others, the dedicated supporters providing advice and mentoring, and the individuals and organisations who are shaping the women-friendly enterprise culture to the benefit of women and the UK economy. Together they are changing the face of enterprise.
The Awards are now in their 3rd year and are currently open for nominations. There are eight different categories, ranging from ‘innovator award’ to ‘inspirational business mum’. They also have a very straightforward nomination process to encourage a wide range of entries.
