28th to 30th August 2009
The Wokingham Food and Drink Festival Dear Friend,

With August here it’s time to be making the most of the Summer weather and spending time with family and friends.

This August Bank Holiday weekend why not gather them together and come along to Wokingham’s FREE Food, Drink and Music Festival.

Friday Evening 28th August in Elms Field, Elms Road, opposite Virgin Active there will be Band Night.

Starting at 6.00 pm the main stage will burst into life with Red Means Go and finishing the evening with Streetfight Silence who are the current Wokingham Battle of the Bands winners.

A night really aimed at the 14 to 24 year olds but all those young at heart will enjoy it just as much. In addition to the bands the Bar and Food stalls will be open and you can watch the art of cocktail mixing – not to be missed.

Saturday 29th August sees the opening of the 3rd Wokingham Food and Drink Festival at 10.00 am.

For those who have not been before you are in for a treat. Throughout the day there will be cooking demonstrations, wine and beer tasting as well as a wide range of stallholders from Japanese knives to the finest of chocolate and many more in between. Please see www.wokinghamfestival.co.uk for a full list of exhibitors.

During the day entertainment will be provided by East Berkshire Operatic Society, Kieran Irvine, Yasemin Ucan, Wokingham Choral Society and many, many more.

As the afternoon progresses the tempo of the entertainment will increase and our final act of the evening is Elvis. Yes, Elvis is coming to Wokingham in the form of probably the best Elvis impersonator in the country, Ben Portsmouth and The Taking Care of Elvis Band. The Bar and Food stalls will be open all evening so don’t worry about what to have for tea come along and enjoy some wonderful food from Loch Fyne, Manor Farm Game, M L Thai Food, homemade burgers and sausages from The Dukes Head and several others.

Sunday 30th August

The Food and Drink Festival starts at 11.00 am and it will be non-stop until closing time at 4.00 pm. Entertainment on the stage will be provided by Cloudglider and the Demonstration Theatre will be in full flow. Neil Bardo, Head Chef at Miltons Restaurant, will be entertaining the crowds as he has done for the last 2 years with his unique blend of humour and skill, Ascot Ales will be holding a tasting session of their award winning beers and there will be a range of other demonstrations including pizza and pasta making.

Full details for all the attractions can be seen at www.wokinghamfestival.co.uk

We look forward to seeing you there. Please feel free to forward this email to any of your contacts who are interested in Food, Drink & Music - Better send it to everyone then!
