Extended Congestion Zone Charges
Extended Congestion Zone Charges do you have a spare £150?
Advice from Windsor Vehicle Leasing
Car drivers should be aware that, on 19 February 2007, the Congestion Charging zone extended to the west and now covers the following areas:
Bayswater
Notting Hill
North and South Kensington
Knightsbridge
Chelsea
Brompton
Belgravia
Pimlico
Victoria
St. James's
Waterloo
Borough
City of London
Clerkenwell
Finsbury
Holborn
Bloomsbury
Soho
Mayfair
Parts of Marylebone
If you dont pay for traveling in the Congestion Zones, the registered keeper of the vehicle will receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) of £100. However, this charge is reduced to £50 for payment within 14 days. Failure to pay the PCN within 28 days will result in the penalty being increased to £150 something youd probably wish to avoid!
A Pay Next Day facility has been introduced which means that there is now no increase in cost if you pay between 10pm and midnight on the day of travel. Also, if you forget to pay by midnight on the day of travel, you can now pay up to midnight the following charging day at a cost of £10, making it easier to swallow than a £150 charge.
Payment of the Congestion Charge allows you to enter, drive within, and exit the Congestion Charging Zone as many times as you wish on that day.
