Our Shed will be a one-stop shopping experience in the heart of Maidenhead selling locally produced food and an area where hot desking and meetings can be held.
Our Shed will allow customers to support local businesses. The on-site restaurant will seek to source its ingredients from the wide range of food and drink available on the shop floor, enabling local cash to be recycled throughout the whole business. Not having travelled thousands of miles, the food will have a low carbon footprint as well as being really fresh.
In Addition Our Shed will provide:- A learning Area for local children to participate in events held which can be run with producers such as bread and cake making and other events.
- Networking facilities and a business meeting area for start-up businesses or those who wish to have a location available to hold meetings.
- Exhibition Area for local artists to exhibit work.
Our Shed is calling for support and as our deadline for the 2nd stage grant application is nearer we make a call for your support.
If you are willing to support Our Shed we require written pledges of support. These are required to be sent to us by 15th November 2008.
Please support if you: - A producer of local food - please could you write a pledge of support that you will supply Our Shed with your goods (of course Our Shed will pay)
- Can provide a service - building, electrical, plumbing and would like to be involved in an eco refit of a building in Maidenhead, please could you pledge your time and costings for us.
- A consumer who wishes to support local producers, could you please write a pledge of support for Our Shed, saying you will support a local enterprise.
- A business who wishes to hold meetings in a environmentally friendly building which provides ethically produced food - please can you write a pledge of support.
- A networking group and looking for a greener space to hold meetings - please can you also write a pledge of support.
- Willing to financially support Our Shed (public funding), please also send us a written pledge for the amount required.
The purpose of the written pledges is to include these within the application process - proof that there is indeed interest and support for Our Shed.
Our Shed application process has to be completed by the 17th November 2008. The outcome of the application process will be announced in March 2009. If we have been successful in winning the grant of £500,000.00 we will ONLY contact you then to confirm we have received the grant.
For the application to be successful, it is therefore necessary to gain the support and we ask that you could do so. If you could also sign the following ipetition also:
