MORE POSITIVE DEMAND FOR LOCAL FOOD IN THE HIGH STREET!
Members of Transition Town Maidenhead were busy collecting signatures for their petition, to accompany a BIG LOTTERY GR ANT, for local food/ produce to have a permanent outlet in the High Street.
Maidenhead townsfolk again were enthusiastically signing up to the petition over the weekend, both in the High Street and also at Sunday Grove Road Farmer’s Market.
Suzy Kirkwood, who is campaigning to help fill the empty shops in Maidenhead High Street, and a member of TTM, said “I was overwhelmed with the positive response from locals I meet over the weekend and everyone commented on how so MUCH better the High Street was with some stalls from the Farmers Market in the Town last Saturday so a permanent presence would be most welcome.
Especially if it filled up on the of many empty shop units with something different!
There will be a Public Meeting re 2 bold projects that Transition Town Maidenhead are planning on Thursday 2nd October at St Mary’s Church Hall, High Street, Maidenhead, from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
