Wholesomelife
As from a young age, I have always eaten local, organic and biodynamic produce. This was nutured by my Father who is a Wholistic Practioner specialising in food allergies, EFT, Acupuncture, Sports Therapies and Nutrition awareness.

My Mother's Parents were Farmers many years ago (during the late 1950's), produced organic vegetables, milk, meat and free range eggs. These were then sold to the local community via a home delivery service. Notably they were highly passionate about the care towards their farm stock, ensuring that no animal was hurt or suffered ill treatment. My Grandparents were indeed silent pioneers in their time.

Organic and Local Produce seems to be a buzz word, though when you consider traditional farming methods from not that long ago, chemicals and pesticides were virtually non-existent. Not forgetting that home deliveries of produce and working with the local community was also a daily occurrence. It is strange to see that we have completed a circle; where organic, local produce is now trendy and the thing to do so you can outwit your neighbour or friends!

From the age of 4 to 19 I resided in Lismore, NSW (close to Byron Bay), on the east coast of Australia where local, organic and biodynamic* produce was readily available. This was either via the the local farmers, craft and local produce markets occurring weekly, quality organic wholefood stores and the farm stalls set up by the road side by the farmer. Throughout the various seasons fresh pineapples, watermelons, mangos, lemons, green vegetables, bananas, mangoes, blueberries and macadamia nuts were accessible from within a 10km radius. A producer of Cherries and Apples were able to provide cases of fruit home delivered, often transported by a local bus Company. Organic bread from a producer in Victoria could be shipped up by bus overnight or a wonderful fruit loaf was baked locally and could be collected when it was still piping hot. I also had the opportunity to work on a Biodynamic farm at the age of 16. Living close to the sea and the natural wildlife of Australia my family were often involved in seasonal whale watching migration studies, foster parents to injured and rescued wildlife and often supporting campaigns and events in aid of the environment. Overall, there was a strong sense of community spirit and these memories will never leave me.

Now I am older and have children, I have continued the ethos of Organic, Natural, and Biodynamic along with compassion about farming, conscious about what we do to the environment, recycling and what we can do to stop hurting mother earth.

Having spent time living in Japan and also Germany, experiencing cultures that were highly industrial and forward countries, it is pleasing to see that they are two leading countries when it comes to recycling, supporting local farmers, local markets, organics (not always easy in Japan for own countries production) and a general sense of being more environmentally conscious.

Looking back, I was often known as the weirdo, hippy, tree hugger etc. Though in hindsight, I can be pleased to say that I wouldn't be who I am now unless I pay homage to my Grandparents, my Parents and life's experiences. It is with the life experiences that I can provide a wholesome approach to supporting businesses, educational facilities and individuals.

*Biodynamic Farming
Biodynamic agriculture, or biodynamics is based on the anthroposophical teachings of Rudolf Steiner. Any biodynamic produce is also organic. A biodynamic farm works exactly the same as an organic farm in using no pesticides, herbicides etc; but there are various agricultural methods which are unique to biodynamic farming. These include field and compost preparations and a usage of astrological calendar to determine times of planting and harvesting.
