English and Scottish Football Leagues seek Data Partner(s)
SPORTS information collectors and suppliers will have the opportunity to secure data rights for the top English and Scottish professional football leagues through a Request for Proposal (RFP) document being released by Football DataCo Limited (FDC). FDC, a company owned by the Premier League and Football League in England and also representing the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League, is looking for partners to work with through the 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons. The RFP process will seek to identify either a single global partner or multiple partners to meet FDC's needs in three key service areas. • Football Data Collection • Football Database Management • Football Data Suppliers (worldwide) 'Sports data, especially football, has seen significant growth in recent years,' explains FDC General Manager, David Folker. 'There is an insatiable appetite for information about our leagues, teams and players coupled with their performances in these exciting competitions.
