Our campers are original Volkswagen Type 2 Kombi's from the last two years of production at the end of the seventies. These models are generally more user friendly and more reliable than the early "split screen" model that Jamie Oliver drives, but they are based on the same van. So whilst we all dream of owning one like Jamie's, his is actually fitted with a Porsche engine, the ones we have make much better self drive hire vehicles.

More than 4 million type 2 vans have been produced and they continue to be built in Brazil - almost unchanged from this one..
Delphi See our campers. Is a 2 litre, but the first type 2 vans of 1950 had a 1131cc engine that produced just 25bhp. They were still considered good performers at the time..
