Entrepreneurship at the University of Reading
At the University of Reading we have a whole host of courses and activities designed to get our students' entrepreneurial juices flowing. From entrepreneurship module options to company placement schemes and new social and business venture competitions, we make sure our students have every opportunity to increase their commercial awareness, understand the 'nuts and bolts' of business start-up and develop a suite of entrepreneurial skills that will pave their way to success in any field after graduation.
As a member of the Business in Berkshire network, there are plenty of opportunities for you to become involved in our entrepreneurship activities, either offering your own enterprising experiences and expertise, or benefitting from our energetic and talented students.
Highlights include:
The Practice of Entrepreneurship: A dynamic and interactive entrepreneurship module for over 200 students from 13 schools in the University. Local entrepreneurs can get involved in the course, inspiring students with the story of their entrepreneurial journey, or helping students develop networking skills in our student-business wine receptions.
The Enterprise Experience: A project oriented placement scheme which gives local companies a flexible and low-risk opportunity to tap in to a pool of student talent. Visit www.reading.ac.uk/enterpriseexperience for more details.
Competitions and student venture creation: We have a whole host of competitions promoted to students to help drive their new business ideas forward. We also have plenty of students looking for fantastic business advice from students who have been there and done it. Get involved by offering mentoring support, training seminars or being a Dragon's Den judge.
