Leading female entrepreneur advises Thames Valley Innovation Net
The Chief Executive of Marlow-based SpinVox has joined the advisory board of the Innovation Network run by Thames Valley Economic Partnership.
TVEP’s Innovation Network raises the profile of the Thames Valley to be recognised nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence for innovation. It aims to help find the new ideas and technologies of the future that can contribute to the continued prosperity of the region, bringing together the region’s leading innovators and experts through events, networking and workshops.
Christina Domecq is the co-founder and chief executive of Marlow-based SpinVox, the world expert in Voice-to-Screen™ messaging for consumer, enterprise and network operator markets. Born in Spain and educated in the US, Ms Domecq specifically chose the Thames Valley to locate her company to tap into the wealth of telecoms skills in the region. In 2006, she won the Ernst & Young Science & Technology Entrepreneur of the Year (Southern Region) before taking the title of Ernst & Young UK Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
She commented, “I know from my own experience how tough it is to commercialise a new idea successfully. TVEP’s Innovation Network is exactly what’s needed to provide the right connections and support to foster creativity and accelerate the possibilities for early stage innovative companies.”
