Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards 2011

Calling all entries for the Thames Valley Business Awards 2011

Is your business a winner? Is it a fabulous place to work? Do you export around the world?

If so, then the organisers of the prestigious Thames Valley Business Awards 2011 want to hear from you.

The annual awards programme – the biggest and best across the region – has just been launched and businesses have less than two months to enter before the closing date on September 30.

The categories are:

The Business Management Team Award – sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland

The Dynamic Business Award – sponsored by Deloitte

The Thames Valley Business of the Year Award – sponsored by Pitmans

The Best Company to Work For – sponsored by Vail Williams

SME of the Year Award – sponsored by James Cowper

The Thames Valley Export Award – sponsored by DediPower

Guest speaker and presenting the awards this year on November 17 will be Lord Digby Jones, well-known as a champion of British industry, former director general of the CBI and previously minister of state for UK Trade & Investment.

The awards are now in their 17th year and seek to identify the most successful and brightest companies across the region, with entries being judged on everything from management style and teamwork to community involvement and employee satisfaction.

Awards chairman David Murray, said: “We are very excited about this year’s event. Entries in 2010 were up by 20% on the previous year and we want to break that record yet again in 2011.

“The Thames Valley is full of inspiring, innovative and successful companies – this is their chance to shine and show the wider business community, their clients and their employees what they have achieved.”

The gala awards evening will take place at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Madejski Stadium, Reading, where last year’s winners shared their moment of glory with around 300 of the region’s business leaders and top companies.

Among them was The Chemistry Group, whose chief executive officer, Roger Philby said being a winner “gave us a confidence that has catapulted us from success to success in 2011”; while David Bloxham, managing director of Reading-based GCS Recruitment Specialists, said being named Thames Valley Business of the Year had been “incredibly beneficial” to their business.

Deloitte Dynamic Business Award 2009
Deloitte Dynamic Business of the Year Award 2009 The Deloitte Dynamic Business Award is in its 3rd year. The recipient of the Deloitte Dynamic Business Award will demonstrate a consistent record of growth, as well as creative and innovative thinking in all that they do. They may, but not necessarily, be developing their business in overseas markets. We would anticipate that qualifying companies would have minimum turnover of £10m.
