Last Chance to Sign Up for Thames Valley Innovation Conference
More than 400 delegates so far, business exhibition sold out 16th October, 2007 Green Park, Reading
There has been a tremendous response to the Thames Valley's second Innovation Conference which is to be held on 16th October at GreenPark in Reading to promote, inspire and connect innovators. More than 400 delegates have already booked to attend (See list of companies attending at www.thamesvalley.co.uk/events).
Those attending the conference will not only get the opportunity to hear from a top line up of speakers from major Thames Valley-based organisations such as Microsoft, Cisco, UCB and Reckitt Benckiser, but also draw inspiration from local companies demonstrating new solutions at the Innovation Showcase. One of the companies in the showcase is Hungerford-based Triteq, an award winning product design and development company. Louise Fairley, marketing manager at Triteq said, “The conference is perfect for us as we are a very innovative company and deliver medical innovations from concept through to manufacture. We are looking forward to displaying our latest innovative ideas from cancer cell detection to syringe driver technology and it will also be good to do some quality networking.”
Henley-based Sachet Systems, a packaging and marketing company, has also been awarded a stand at the Innovation Showcase to show off a revolutionary way of packaging alcoholic spirits for the airline industry. David Barber, Managing Director of Sachet Systems said, “Our solution has both a positive environmental and commercial impact for our clients as it enables them to reduce their carbon footprint as well as open up the opportunities of carrying more stock to sell on board. It will be interesting to get feedback from people attending the show.”
One of last year’s attendees, Neil Fairbrother, CEO of Pod3TV, would strongly recommend the conference to innovative businesses. He said “Working in a small, innovative business is hard work and you put your life, soul and many hours into it. The conference is great as it makes you realise that you are not alone.”
Delegates will be able to drop-in to a special innovation clinic run by Business Link throughout the day, offering advice on business development, access to finance and legal issues. The business exhibition alongside the conference has now sold out, with 38 organisations who work with innovative companies exhibiting during the day.
The Thames Valley Innovation Conference is a one day conference for entrepreneurs, innovative businesses, and professionals who support innovation. The conference is free of charge to attend, thanks to the support of sponsors SEEDA, Cisco, NESTA, Boyes Turner, University of Reading, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Regus.
