The innovation
AIRSOUND™ 'single point stereo' is a new way of listening to stereo sound. By using loudspeakers in a novel way, AIRSOUND™ Stereo converts conventional stereo into true spatial sound that fills the room.
AIRSOUND™ achieves this room filling sound from a single point source, therefore eliminating the constraints of separate left and right speakers.
The comparable sound quality is clearer, eliminating distortion as volume is increased.
The product
The Sonic Soundscape is the first commercial amplifier and speaker model that demonstrates AirsoundTM. It was designed to be compact, affordable, and ideal for busy individuals. It retails at £150 from www.diasmusic.com.
Prototyping took place between December 2006 and March 2007. The first models were produced in May.
The company
Dias Music are 2 directors, Roger Croft and Hubert Dias. At the Thames Valley Innovation Conference they will be demonstrating the Sonic Soundscape. Bring your iPod or mp3 or cd player along.
They also have another very high quality amplifier at the end of prototyping that you can ask them about.
