Technology company 'gains from investment'
The technology commercialisation firm Braveheart has stated that it is leading an investment into Inxsor, the tech developer.
In total, £600,000 is to be pumped into the latter company in order to develop place-shifting technology, that which allows users to watch programmes on devices other than television sets, reports Hi-Tech Scotland.
Programmes can be recorded then watched later on - on a mobile telephone for instance - the organisation argued.
Commenting on the development, chief executive at Braveheart Geoffrey Thomson stated that the form of technology is starting to gather pace.
"Mobile technologies are becoming very much more sophisticated. In an increasingly mobile world, we see the demand for place-shifting technology as growing significantly in the future," he said.
These thoughts were matched by the chief executive at Inxstor, Tony Combe, who said that good progress has been made so far in the production of the equipment.
Other investment is set to come from the Scottish Co-investment Fund, the publication also noted.
Last month, Google stated that it was going to invest in the production of femtocells via the firm Ubiquisys.
