Stress Management Plus are involved in promoting employee and organisation wellbeing. We have an Employee and Organisation Support Service - an on-site workplace support (counselling and advice) - service for staff, managers and HR, and offer group trainings in Wellbeing; Resilience; Assertiveness; Stress Management for staff and managers. We aim to promote, maintain and improve personal wellbeing and in doing so improve individual and corporate performance.

For the organisation, a lack of wellbeing or the existence of stress can get in the way of the business performing as well as it should do. That’s not healthy for staff, or for the bottom line. If any of the above apply to you/your organisation, SMP’s Employee and Organisation Support Service can help. We have a number of years experience in supporting the business – staff, managers, HR – and promoting, maintaining and improving wellbeing and performance at the individual and corporate level.
Our comprehensive, confidential service includes
• one-to-one support/meetings lasting typically up to 60 minutes (for all staff: personal or work issues)
• advice and support to managers and HR on management/staff/organisational issues

Our staff of workplace counsellors, stress consultants and trainers are all highly experienced and qualified, with industry-standard/university-accredited training in Counselling; Employee and Organisation Support; Stress Management; Facilitation; Mediation; Learning and Development and Coaching. SMP provides a regular, confidential, independent and non-judgmental on-site service at your place of work, or at our offices if you prefer. We also offer a range of complementary wellbeing, stress management and mediation services: group training for staff and managers in resilience; preventing and managing stress; assertiveness skills; mediation work.

Stress is defined by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as “the adverse reaction people have to excessive pressure or other types of demand placed on them”. It can affect organisational efficiency, lead to conflict, business goals are harder or impossible to achieve, the well-being of employees is compromised, and the ‘bottom line’ suffers as a result. There is also the legal imperative to consider. To comply with the law, companies must assess the risk of stress-related ill health arising from work activities and take measures to control that risk. Doing a proper risk assessment for stress should help you avoid prosecution and litigation.
