Unlocking Creativity and Tapping Into Inspiration
What drives inspiration? Where do ideas come from? How can we tap into them more easily?
Creativity can go a long way to boost your career and your business — but how can you get the creative juices flowing?
I was asking myself all those questions and more as I waited to hear the guest speaker at OPPEN's networking meeting this week. I was not disappointed.
Tom Evans, CIO (Chief Inspiration Officer) of Psycademy, is a business and personal catalyst who brings inspiration, innovation, catharsis and enthusiasm into peoples' lives and businesses. He is also an author, bookwright and poet who mentors other authors enabling them to unleash the books inside themselves.
Tom's 30 year career in the broadcasting and Internet industries has given him considerable commercial acumen and an understanding of advanced technologies. He has a knack for making these simple to understand and empowering for others, and that was clearly evident as he carefully explained how the brain works and how to help yourself be more creative.
Tom has also published an inspiring trilogy of meditative poetic stories called One Hundred Years of Ermintrude which I highly recommend that you read if you have not done so. He is currently writing a new novel which explores cutting-edge thinking into consciousness, evolution and cosmology.
The evening was a real success. We were provided with enlightening insights into where inspiration comes from, what those 'lightbulb moments' really are, and learnt tools and techniques to get creativity to flow for us. We each worked on our own project and with the help of those present came up with great suggestions to move each project forward.
All in all, a highly entertaining event. If you are interested in unlocking your own creativity then you can find out more about Tom and his excellent workshops at www.thebookwright.com
The next OPPEN meeting will take place on Wednesday July 16th. Open to all - contact christine@smetraining.co.uk for more details
