Marketers focus on traditional methods
Marketers are not responding to the changing sphere of media, it has been suggested.
According to a report by Gundersen Partners, almost half of marketers admitted that they were not using new media applications because they did not know enough about them, eMarketer reports.
Furthermore, the poll reveals that marketing bosses still favour traditional forms of advertising, as they will spend half their allocated funds on offline or conventional forms of promotion.
It was also found that 70 per cent of businesses were happy with the results from this tool.
Only ten to 30 per cent of a marketing budget will be spent on new forms of new media forms, which could include email marketing and online advertising. Yet respondents to the poll were keen to increase spending in new media areas.
It is possible that consumers may be responding less to traditional forms of advertising, as eMarketer also reports that film studios in Hollywood are looking at online marketing tools.
