Online use 'greater in the UK'
Companies thinking of opening up online marketing channels may be interested to learn that a new study states the UK has come out on top of a survey looking at internet usage.
The study by comScore suggests the UK sees the highest level of internet activity in Europe, with a reported 21.8 million daily visitors to the world wide web.
It was put in direct comparison with 15 other countries in Europe including Austria, Italy and Portugal.
Moreover, each month each user goes online 21 times. This equates to an average of 34.4 hours on average spent online each month by each user.
Managing director of comScore Europe Bob Ivins said that the data was a comprehensive study into internet use patterns across the whole of Europe.
"This marks the first time we have released this detailed of a portrait of Internet usage across the 16 countries, making these comparisons truly revealing," he stated.
The findings come as Retail Bulletin announced that 52 per cent of retailers aim to increase the amount of money they plough into online marketing.
