Maintaining your business brand
Maintaining a brand can help to improve business volumes and broaden a company’s client base, regardless of the size of the firm.
According to David Copland, deputy managing director of Pink Home Loans, branding is not just a logo, product or glossy brochure, but is the persona representing a company.
“The principles that revolve around creating a brand are no different for a blue chip company than for the sole trader, business to business or business to consumer,” Mr Copland told Mortgage Solutions.
“It is about identifying who the target market is, what they expect from the supplier, and how those expectations can be satisfied.”
The expert goes on to say that, once a firm has identified its market and positioned itself, it must select the right media, for example by striking up a relationship with like-minded businesses in the local area.
He advises: “Remember, each contact with the client is a representation of a firm’s brand and the slightest confusion in message at any of these touch points can cause the relationship to fall over and the sale to be lost.”
