Effective Marketing Requires Consistent Branding
Email marketing can be a cost-effective tool, but only if you pay sufficient attention to branding and design.
Recent research has revealed that email is the most popular online activity for over 90 per cent of internet users, according to a report in IT Wales, but businesses need to focus on branding and the overall appearance of their emails in order to make an impact.
Ian Creek of NewZapp told IT Wales that businesses should use the same branding styles for both their online and offline marketing endeavours.
"Remember that this is not limited to your logo, don't forget about font styles, sizes, colours and your writing style," he advised.
In addition, small businesses should use email marketing to communicate with their target audience on a more personal level.
"The big advantage that an SME has over the big corporations is style and personality," said Mark Brownlow of email-marketing-reports.com.
"If you want to stand out from an increasingly crowded inbox then you need to... inject a little bit of personality into the emails," he told IT Wales.
"Drop the corporate jargon and talk to readers like a human being would."
