Children lead the way...
Isabelle Mayhead aged 8 of Oakfield School has organised a bring & buy sale to raise funds for Rotary's Shelter Emergency Box scheme.

Last Sunday Isabelle & her mum attended the annual schools Education Sunday Service at Windsor Parish Church and heard from Sally Stevens Editor in Chief of Berkshire Media Group about the Shelter Box collection organised by The Rotary Club of Windsor & Eton which featured in the Royal Borough Observer newspaper. David Shaw the Rotary PR Officer & chairman of Windsor Parish Church Management Group was in the Church Choir & Isabelle decided to donate the proceeds from her sale to shelter box via The Rotary Club of Windsor & Eton.

James Lang President of The Rotary Club of Windsor & Eton attended the bring & buy sale at Oakfield School. Isabelle's collection of £250 together with other matched donations will enable a complete shelter box to be purchased. The Rotary Club of Windsor & Eton decided in advance of the collections to send two shelter boxes for Haiti to make sure aid was given immediately.

The picture shows Isabelle's friends Carson Trail, Ellen Pickering, Oliver Bean, Lucy Mckeown, Maia Perkins, Christopher Lowria with James Lang.
President James Lang said he was extremely pleased that Isabelle had chosen Shelter Box a UK Rotary based emergency aid scheme as the recipient of the proceeds her bring & buy sale proceeds. It was very pleasing to hear that all the items had been donated by the 220 school children & each child had used about £2 of their own money to purchase the sale items.

Thanks

David Shaw
