Changing the Guard at Windsor Rotary!

The Rotary Club of Windsor St George celebrates its Silver Jubilee year in July. On 3 July 2007 President Mike Brown, the club's youngest President handed over the Presidency to Judith Diment, the club's first female President.

At the handover dinner, which was attended by the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Councillor Leo Walters and Mayoress Mrs Margot Walters, Judith said "It is a great honour and privilege to be leading Windsor St George in its 25th year. The club has a distinguished history of service in the community at home and abroad."

The club was chartered on November 23rd 1982.

The Rotary Club of Windsor St George is proud to have served the community for 25 years and looks forward to a bright future. It is well known for many successful events including the annual Operatic Gala in the autumn in association with the Windsor & Eton Operatic Society. The Opera this year will be Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky, held on Thursday 25 October 2007 at the Farrer Theatre, Eton College.

Immediate Past President, Mike Brown says, "It has been a very successful year for the club. We have organised many events and helped where we can in other events as well as supporting international projects. The Operatic Gala in 2006 alone raised in excess of £6,500 for the Shooting Star Children’s Hospice. The Festival of Christmas Music raised £4,500 for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. We were recently able to donate a further £3000 to Age Concern to contribute to a new minibus. And we have helped countless other charities and good causes this year. We are very grateful to all the people who have supported and partnered with us. We have a great new President who will build on our successes in our Silver Jubilee year."
