Enterprise
Adding structured wider key skills learning to a young person’s education equips them for enterprise and helps them to actively engage with their community. Wider key skills will enable a young person to work with others more effectively, tackle problem solving more efficiently and improve their own learning and performance. These skills will stay with them for life.
Wider key skills, work-related learning and enterprise develop students’ employability and workplace skills. Students who are taught enterprise will gain a valuable understanding of business matters and economic issues, strengthening their financial capabilities and making them more likely to create their own economic wellbeing as employable adults. Engaging students in learning encourages them to have more of a connection with their learning outcomes. As well as directly benefiting students, teaching wider key skills leads to a more enterprising college and more enterprising staff.
