International cake sale raises over £220 for Cancer Research.
The four star Renaissance Reading Hotel held a charity cake sale at the Broad Street Mall on Friday 26th October. The Back office sales team organized the event to raise money for one of the hotels chosen charity: Cancer Research. Homemade cakes made from recipes around the world were produced by the staff themselves and sold in the Mall to shoppers between 11.30am – 3.30pm. A staggering total of £227.44 was raised during this time. David Berry (Renaissance Reading Hotel Sales Manager) said “We are delighted to raise this amount of money for Cancer Research and I would like to thank all our customers, staff and the Broad Street Mall for their help. The hotel has been running various events throughout 2007 for Cancer Research including Staff raffles, name the Hippo, Race for life and the Big Kerching Thing. We have now raised over £6,100 since the beginning of the year and I am very proud of the Hotel staff’s efforts and achievements in helping to raise this amount of money so far.’
