Review your own business or team in the context of the levels identified below, then use our series of questions to help your organisation 'step up to the plate' and release the energy and discretionary effort of your people into
your business.

Individuals, teams and organisations need a VISION ~ a picture of what success will look like in the future. It provides the context in which they operate and should inspire you with the image it creates.

The team or organisation's PURPOSE or IDENTITY describes the 'who' - it determines what an entity is passionate about and needs to pay attention to. It may be quality or excellence for example: it's your 'brand identity'. It is something that is lived rather than achieved.

BELIEFS & VALUES describe the mental models that make up the culture of a team or business. The operating values determine what is acceptable in the team and what is rewarded. They also define what is unacceptable. So, if trust is one of the values, behaviours that generate distrust would be unacceptable. In order for values to be true, they must be seen to be exhibited in everyones' daily behaviour. At this level, the energy of motivation is accessed.

The above 3 levels are about LEADERSHIP

Below these 3 levels exists CAPABILITY - the skills required to realise the purpose and vision and the objectives to be set that will guide the team towards their success. Focus and efficiency result in paying attention to this level.

At the BEHAVIOUR level exist the required actions and activities we engage in on a daily basis, to which we apply our effort.

The ENVIRONMENT is about the tools and physical resources required to do what is needed of us.


These bottom 3 levels are about MANAGEMENT - ensuring the appropriate resources are in the appropriate place at the right time.
