The man behind the title
Jerry Federico – IT Manager
Jerry started his settled in an electronics career working for Mars Electronics in Winnersh, where he tested and repaired populated circuit boards, after trying various roles.
Jerry was made redundant after a few years and eventually ended up working for a Printed Circuit Board Manufacturers, where he helped to introduce a computer based front-end system (Gc-Cam) for reading and manipulating PCB electronic data (gerbers etc) supplied by customers which in turn led to his first network installation.
After three years working for Printaboard it was taken over by Quick Circuits LTD in September 1992 and thus began his long career at Quick Circuits.
“I moved straight into the Front End dept where I eventually became Front End Manager. However, as Quicks grew, I found myself installing computers, networks, writing programs etc. and thus became IT manager”
Jerry’s introduction into IT was when he bought his first computer (a Tandy TRS80 with 4K of RAM) and so started programming and from then on was hooked.
Jerry’s official job title is IT Manager which involves mostly IT related issues, but he still helps out at the Front End dept when it’s busy.
Jerry is married and has four children, all of which are girls. Jerry’s hobbies as a teenager were rowing, sailing and canoeing or anything water based really. He then started to take his pilot licence for light aircraft.
When he is not playing taxi for his children, Jerry enjoys reading, mostly science fiction and enjoys all puzzles, crosswords and Sudoku and the occasional round of golf.
