Mobile provider to create new property in Slough
The leading UK mobile network O2 is to locate its new headquarters on the Slough Trading Estate (STE), reports website CPN.
A new 110,000 sq ft office building is to be built especially for the mobile operator at a cost of £19 million and will be liked to the firm's existing building on Bath Road.
The deal will mean that O2 and STE revamp the existing lease to match a new 15-year duration.
Over 300,000 sq ft will be covered overall by the two developments.
Regional director of the STE Stephen Bailey was pleased with the announcement and the opportunities it would bring.
"The building is close to the rail station and The Heart of Slough regeneration scheme nearby should improve its value and give us some nice opportunities," he told the property website.
In addition to this, Rackspace Managed Hosting is also to lease a 50,000 sq ft building on the same estate.
