One of the best views in the world must be from the drive at Blenheim Palace. Tuesday 24th June saw me enter the drive at Blenheim Palace at 07:30am!
For those who have seen Blenheim Palace from this angle there is no finer sight. The lawn sweeps down to the lake to your right and to the left there is Blenheim Palace in all its glory. Magnificent!
I had been invited to an online marketing seminar and the choice had been Online Media show at the Business Design Centre, Islington or SEO seminar Blenheim Palace... no contest!
I arrived with an hour and a half to spare, anticipating it would take 90 mins to get there on a business day... wrong. The 90 mins were not wasted. I wandered around the lake and got talking to a couple of old poachers who were out on their morning walk, one they take every day since retirement. So a little glimpse of days gone by on the estate before the main course.
I registered for the seminar and began networking. Talking to this person and that, looking for the main man for the company hosting the event so we could talk turkey or rabbit for a while, being on an estate in the country n’all!
I was enjoying the conversation and had just spoken to Wallis and the Royal Bank of Scotland before I was taken to one side by the event hosts and advised that this was a private gathering of their clients and my invitation had been issued in error so could I please exit stage left. I was a little taken aback but I understood the situation and quietly went on my way.
I’d seen one of the finest views in all of England and so accomplished one goal for the day. I drove home, arriving at 10:30 and took advantage of the unexpected free time by collecting my ticket for the Online Media Show and off I went to Islington.
Obviously there is more to this story and it’s a great one if the hosts fail to fully consider what a great offering we have at LiaiseOnline! Perhaps there will be a story about David and Goliath in the seo world where little David is yours truly, but that’s for another day...
If you get the chance this summer go and enjoy the view at Blenheim Palace if you haven’t already and read our story about the Online Media Show right here.
