Rob Wilson helped launch a new legal advice service today at the Reading Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) on Minster Street. The service, funded by the Legal Services Commission, is part of a legal aid initiative to champion the rights of those in need of physical or other care.
The advice sessions will mostly take place at the CAB, although arrangements can be made for them to take place in people’s homes, care homes or hospital if required.
Rob commented, “It is important that we help vulnerable and socially excluded people to have access to justice and this new service is a great way to achieve that. I regularly meet constituents who are having difficulty understanding the intricacies of the British legal system and this new legal advice service will help hundreds of people across my constituency. Legal aid has been severely curtailed in recent years by the Government, denying many disadvantaged people justice.“
