Online ad spend tops £1.3bn
Advertising spend on the internet has increased in the UK, according to the latest figures.
Businesses may be interested to know that the sector is growing in popularity as the latest figures from the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) has revealed that spending in the sector reached £1.3 billion.
Chief executive of the IAB Guy Phillipson comments that the area is continuing to grow.
"The online market is developing at an astounding rate and once again we see exceptional growth," he remarks.
Senior analyst with eMarketer Karin von Abrams adds that advertisers are embracing the sector without hesitation.
"With average daily web use up 158 per cent in the past four years and online campaign measurement growing in sophistication, advertisers have little hesitation about spending major sums on the net," she said.
Online ad spend now accounts for 14 per cent of all advertising revenues.
Businesses were told recently that restricting access to the web in the office could reduce the risk of online crime.
