1917 The Boston Gazette Newspaper Published
The Boston Gazette newspaper is published for the first time.

The Boston Gazette was an early printed newspaper published in the North American Colonies as a rival to the Boston News-Letter with which it merged in 1741, becoming the Boston-Gazette.

Amongst its contributors at the time was Samuel Adams, who was one of the chief Massachusetts leaders of the Patriot cause, a movement that led to the American Revolution against the British occupancy.

His writings and thoughts helped shape the future of American politics by articulating the theory of republicanism.
