BIOGRAPHY - Chris Challis

Chris Challis of Camwells (www.camwells.co.uk/brp) is a Chartered Accountant and one of Camwells founders. His interest in technology started as a Natural Sciences graduate from Cambridge University.

Chris's experience as a Chartered Accountant over more than 20 years ranges from small family businesses to quoted PLCs. He worked initially in London, and qualified with Grant Thornton in Oxford as first prize winner for the Thames Valley region.

Chris then became Head of Finance of Celltech, the bio tech company. Here he helped to put in the foundations for the company to reach the FTSE100.

He joined Price Waterhouse Management Consultants for four years as a Financial Management Consultant. This included a period as Computer Audit Manager, which grew his interest in leveraging technology for profit.

This was enhanced by selling business and accounting systems, at the sharp end of business. His experience therefore encompasses sales, cost control, financial management and business strategy, and using technology to efficiently achieve those goals.

Chris continues his involvement as IT Faculty representative for the Thames Valley Society of Chartered Accountants (TVSCA), for whom he has been arranging popular events since 1998.
