Speed Networking With a Twist
What are you doing on the 17th November between 12pm and 3pm? Check your diary because you don’t want to miss out!
Business in Berkshire are hosting an event at the Renaissance Hotel, Reading which will see 20 entrepreneurial students and business people take the stage and present their idea to the audience. Contestants will step forward on the day or register their interest beforehand at www.berkshirelive.com

The audience will be made up of fellow competitors, business people and people in positions of influence who have taken time out of their busy schedule to join us for this BinB event - the first of what will become an annual event which will celebrate business across the county.
(Richard Byard – Reading Borough Councils Economic Development manager and Paul Roach, Town Centre manager RBWM have confirmed attendance.)

Mary Flavelle of the Enterprise Gateway will be bringing her famous bell and managing the presentation process in the only way Mary knows how!
(Mary set up the first Thursday breakfasts while working for The Chamber of Commerce. She regularly got 100 along for breakfast at the Coppid Beach, Bracknell)

Hanif Khan from Video Shoot Productions will be getting the footage in the can and all contestants will receive their footage as a Windows Media File for use on their own websites. (This is worth £500 and will be provided FREE!)

The main prize will be half a dozen Business in Berkshire Silver Crusader accounts with six months membership. Each month one of our journalists will contact the winners and run a story for them in our various communications so that we can help them build a profile for their business. This has a value of over £1600!

Our other sponsors will be coming forward with prizes for those taking part in the day… and if you’d like to offer something to our contestants, either for taking part or as a significant prize, then please let Hannah know.

Business men and women will pay £25 entry and students and the unemployed £5. Payment is preferred online but can be made on the day - click here to pay. All money raised will go to Children in Need.

Precedence will be given to students for the 20 places as we are looking to encourage the young to think about becoming masters of their own destiny and it is only through exposure to real business situations that they can choose their path. Any places left will be taken up by business people who will appreciate the exposure we can provide for them.

The reality is that, outside the comfort of their college / university, many students may fear the unknown and therefore we anticipate more than half the spots going to business people. Unless of course the students are brave enough to step up to the plate… are you?
