Marketing to finally go mobile?
Mobile marketing has long been expected to breakthrough and it is finally though that it may start to be on the move by one expert in the industry.
Senior analyst at eMarketer and author of the new report, Mobile Brand Advertising, John du Pre Gauntt has said that the infrastructure for mobile advertising is now in place.
According to the publication, brand advertisers should start scaling up now that wireless technology and other components are set up.
Mr Gauntt commented on the widespread effect of text messaging.
"Mobile text messaging is more or less a mass-market service worldwide. Mobile music has climbed the first rung of the mass-market ladder," he remarked.
He added that it was obvious the sector will see huge growth in the long-term.
It was reported yesterday that word of mouth and consumer opinion were still the most effective advertising tools for businesses.
