Mobile solutions 'to be made easier in Europe'
A new service is to be launched by communications companies The Cloud and Vyke in the bid to offer customers improved mobile calling solutions in the UK and Europe.
Now, the duo will aim to offer Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solutions to users in hotspots that are maintained by The Cloud Networks.
Vyke users are set to benefit via the deal that has been signed by subsidiary Vyke AS.
It is hoped easier coverage will be possible at any of the 9,000 Wi-Fi wireless hotspots in a variety of locations.
These are set to include areas of Manchester and Canary Wharf and 16 areas will be targeted overall.
Managing director for the Cloud Nordics Roald Sanden said that he is happy with the development.
"Mobile VoIP is driving development within the telecoms industry to the next level. We are pleased that The Cloud's network provides a key part of the mobile VoIP value chain," he commented.
Recently, Ofcom stated that it was considering a change in the law that could see greater use of Wi-Max broadband.
