Making Big Changes
Ever since I stumbled across a little book called ‘The Midas Method’ a few years ago, I’ve been fascinated by self-improvement / self-help material. I’ve probably read hundreds of similar books since and although most have something to offer, I struggled to find one that truly brought all the key elements together into an easily-followed system.

The reason why so much self-help material fails is not because there’s anything intrinsically wrong with the content; usually it’s because it’s presented in a way that the reader finds either too difficult to grasp, or more usually – too difficult to sustain on a daily basis.

In some cases, Anthony Robbins for example, the reader is bombarded with so much information (all good stuff mind you) that they are left feeling overwhelmed and wondering exactly how to put it all together in a consistent way that will actually bring results. And whilst we’re on the subject, a criticism of much American self-help material is that it seems to be aimed squarely at corporate executive types – in other words, people that have already achieved a level of ‘success’ that many would-be readers are actually striving for. The overall effect can be quite alienating to the ‘man in the street’ who just wants to create some steady, positive lifestyle improvements.

Over time, and by a process of trial, error, experimentation, and elimination, I sorted the elements of self-help/self-improvement that really work from those that don’t - eventually fine tuning the whole thing down into a simple system that I’ve been following myself for a while now. Then last year I decided to write it all down, compiling my notes together and presenting the information in a logical way that’s easy to follow, makes complete sense, and most importantly – is an enjoyable read. Initially I gave away a few copies to friends and colleagues and after getting some very positive feedback, was prompted to publish the finished work in ebook format. The result is ‘Make Big Changes’.
