Crocs for Kids
Last summer MiniMoonsailors started selling Crocs – a lightweight, super-comfy shoe. We thought they were going to be ‘the next big thing’ but initially we were disappointed – we only sold a handful of pairs last year. Suddenly they’ve taken off in popularity and we’re struggling to keep up with demand.

Our first shipment of Crocs Cayman shoes for kids came in a fantastic range of colours but didn’t sell particularly well last summer. So this year our plan was to rationalise our range and offer them in two colours only: blue and pink. But somewhere between making this decision and actually placing our next order, something bizarre has happened: the ‘Crocs’ phenomenon has taken off…

Everywhere you go, you see people wearing Crocs: you can’t mistake them for anything else; they look like clogs but they’re made from a super-lightweight material that’s hardwearing and VERY comfortable. Although Minimoonsailors only sell children’s Crocs, we’re getting dozens of calls daily from adults looking for Crocs in their size too…

Our original batch of Crocs (which we thought we’d be stuck with) sold out within days. Our second batch sold out before we’d actually taken delivery ourselves, and the third batch (currently on order) is already ¾ of the way to being sold out. The next batch will be massive in order to keep up with demand – it should also include the sought-after Disney Crocs.

It doesn’t stop there. You can also customise your crocs with ‘Jibbitz’ – best described as clip on badges you attach to your Crocs. We’ll have those in stock soon too. And then there’s the Crocs bracelet which you can also use as a carrier for your Jibbetz – available in colours to match your Crocs of course.

It’s a phenomenon, and when I’ve got some time, I’ll try and figure out what the marketing department at Crocs have done to create such a buzz around this product. In the meantime, there’s work to be done. Pass me that box of Crocs and the list of advance orders…
