MiniMoonsailors was launched last year as a result of our own frustrating attempts to track down UV protection beachwear for our own children. It seemed like you had to go one place for swimsuits, another place for beach robes, somewhere else for wetsuits - and so on. Wouldn’t it make sense to bring all the best UV products together into a ‘one stop shop’? Hence Minimoonsailors was born.
From the start, our range has only focused on high-quality designs that are also colourful and trendy - otherwise children won’t like wearing them. The full range includes a vast selection of UV swimwear (sunsuits, tankinis, trunks, swimshirts, wetsuits) as well as accessories like hats, sunglasses, beach robes, aquashoes, sandals, and even a range of organic sun creams and lotions. Every product we sell is the result of careful research and comparison and in most cases we’ve rejected 3 or 4 alternatives before settling on a specific brand to stock.
Our biggest selling item is currently the TWF ‘shortie’ wetsuit. Made by TWF, specialists in wetsuit manufacture since 1969, they are made exactly the same way as an adult suit, offering excellent levels of protection and keeping your child warm even on chillier days. They are surprisingly inexpensive for such a quality product too - actually half the price of some of our competitors. (Kids love the bright, exciting colour schemes and 'shark' designs by the way…).

Nowadays, most people are aware of the need for appropriate UV protection, and with the ozone layer depleting at a rate of around 5% each year, it looks like the sun's rays are set to get even stronger! Remember too, cloudy days can be deceptive - clouds only block about 20% of UV radiation. So it’s important to protect your child’s skin from excessive exposure to the sun. Harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation can cause painful sunburn and prolonged exposure can even lead to skin blemishes, premature aging of the skin, and skin cancer.
