About OMEC
OMEC was formed in 1993 by Malaysians who are settled and are working in the United Kingdom with the objective of bringing together Malaysian Professionals and Entrepreneurs in London. The Club's activities have attracted the interest of Malaysian and British businessmen and industrialists who are keen to participate in Business opportunities available in Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
OMEC's success since inception has come from the strong support it has received from its past patrons Dato' Kamarudin Abu, Dato' J M Amir, Dato' Hj Salim Hashim and from its present patron, His Excellency Dato' Abd. Aziz Mohammed, the High Commissioner for Malaysia to the United Kingdom.
The objectives of the Club are:
• To provide a platform, through well planned events, for the Malaysian and British business communities to network and develop their common interests.
• To make aware the professional expertise of OMEC members.
• To identify and satisfy, where possible, the business and professional needs of our members.
• To assist and advise Malaysian students in charting their career progression and work placement, where practical.
During the course of a typical year, seminars and forums are organised to bring members closer to the people and ideas changing the world around us. In the medium-term, we aim to bring you advance news of a wide range of events and lectures arranged for our members, so you can meet with other like-minded people and hone your own business mind. We are making strategic links with various organisations in order to give you a wider choice of useful information from the network.
Malaysian companies, entrepreneurs and professionals based in the United Kingdom and British companies and entrepreneurs who have an interest in Malaysia should find OMEC a useful meeting point as well as the perfect platform to develop their business interests.
