Networking or Not-working – which are you? If you are not networking, the chances are business is not as good as it could be – so here comes the question – where do I go to get the best out of networking for me? - ---- and this is how you should look at it. Is there a guest list – a business card box, an opportunity to get up and speak for 1 minute or 2? Remember the guidelines:
1. People will only do business with people they know
2. Go nowhere without your business cards – if you haven’t got any – get some!
3. If other work is on offer and it is not your field – pass it on – you will get rewards
4. Meet with like minded people then can be so supportive
5. Practice your one minute presentation – don’t sell – introduce – and watch the time
6. Give plenty of business cards out, but give 2 to people you need to stay in touch with.
7. Pick an event and become a regular – otherwise you will not be remembered
8. Plan for your networking event – check your clothes and is the car clean?
9. The detail of your business is for one2one meetings – not public announcement.
10. Have fun, big of a giggle – and smile on the phone – it can be seen.
