Hello to all our 'Friends of MarlowFM'...
...those of long standing and those who have only just recently decided to support community radio for Marlow. Over 30 people kindly signed our form at the May Fayre last Saturday asking to be added to our email list so they could be updated with events. Unfortunately, a list of names petition style is not acceptable to Ofcom as evidence of support from local people, so it would be great if you would take just a couple of minutes to register your support via the form on our home page www.marlowfm.co.uk If you're amongst the following, then please register as soon as you get a moment. "Yes... I'd like to have a community radio station for Marlow" or "I'd like to support MarlowFM in their bid to acquire a 5 year community broadcast licence" etc... I'm sure you can be far more creative than I... Our long awaited car stickers are on their way to me as I type; our planned departure for our weekend away to Stratford-upon-Avon has been delayed until they arrive. Actually, if I'm honest, it's simply because as usual, as a family we're running so so late. Clothes still in the dryer and I haven't finished my breakfast toast and coffee yet. We're starting a regular weekly MarlowFM Photo Caption competition on our web site this weekend; two categories... under 12's and over 12's. To cover ourselves with the old data protection Act, anyone entering who is under 12 will have to get their guardian to email their approval for us to hold their contact information. The two winners will each receive a T-shirt of their choice, a car sticker and a button badge. The closing day for entries will be midnight Friday each week and the winners will be posted on the web site each Monday morning and notified directly by email. We're hoping to announce a date very soon now for those of you who expressed an interest in helping MarlowFM. The idea is to allocate you into appropriate groups, advertising/marketing, fundraising, presenting/podcasts, technical, news/sports/editorial etc so that we can make better and faster progress towards providing a more comprehensive online service and also begin to raise some much needed finance.
