Phew What a scorcher
'Phew What a scorcher' as the lazy headline writer would opt for... or the equally lazy MarlowFM Updater.

Actually, I'm feeling rather guilty having watched the stirling efforts of a couple of thousand runners go past the end of my road in the annual Marlow 5 Mile Fun Run. Phoebe and Issy had painted a sign for one of their teachers who was taking part which read 'Go on Mr. Ingram' - unfortunately Mr. ingram was going on past so fast they didn't get the chance to hold the sign aloft for him to read.

We spotted several people we knew and I managed to snap a few of pics of David 'Baz' Barry in his new MarlowFM T-shirt who looked remarkably spritely despite the heat. (see attached PDF)

But horrors of horrors, instead of waving to the runners and soaking up the rays, I should of course have been online booking my Cambridge Folk Festival tickets. By the time I remembered, the 60% allocated for online bookings were all gone. There were 40% remaining for phone bookings, but after redialling the phone number for close on two hours, I've decided to accept that I won't be going. Life's too short to hang onto a phone line for three or four hours in the hope you're going to get through. Maybe next year ... (if I remember!)

Anyway, Andy Fowler will be able to fly the flag for MarlowFM and hopefully get to talk to some of the bands and artists appearing there as he certainly wouldn't have forgotten to log onto the site on the dot as soon as the tickets became available.

I should have some kids sized MarlowFM T-shirts coming to me by next weekend as I suddenly realised that our audiences at the school fetes are going to be predominantly children!! This was prompted by my daughters saying 'Wow. Those shirts are really cool... can we have one?'
Unfortunately, even the smallest ones I have are too big for them as they're a small adult size. So now we'll be able to have some fun competitions and give shirts away as prizes. Button Badges have been ordered but probably won't arrive before the Sandygates roadshow. We will be making the badges and car stickers available for anyone who wants one if they send me a stamped self addressed envelope. People will be able to buy T-shirts and polo shirts via the web site and request stickers and badges very soon - useful if you can't make any of the upcoming roadshows.

Anyway, at least we have some lovely T-shirt weather to enjoy for a while. I must get the rest of the garden cleared so I can stoke up the barbie... but maybe I'll just have one more glass of chilled wine before I start!
