With another social networking site being launched every hour, each with a unique widget that makes it “the best social networking site”, how many social networking sites can an individual be part of before they become unmanageable?
There are tools out there that will allow you to push your latest thought to 50 websites, or, 'social networks' in the blink of an eye. Allowing you to post on the hour, every hour, increasing your word count in the new world of highest word count wins! But what do you win?
Sore finger tips or a repetitive strain injury come to mind!
I guess there are two missions going on here. The first is social networking for social purposes, getting to know people and making lifelong friends. The second is about business, getting your message heard and looking to connect with business people, this is the mission I’m concerned with.
I would like to ask for those who read this page to reply directly to me on an email address I have created specifically for this purpose.
social networking at business in berkshire .co.uk , all joined up, would do just nicely. Tell us how many networks you are part of, their names and if you could handle more, or will you manage a few for a time and then swap them out and rotate around as the wind takes you. We’ll share the results with all those that step up to the plate which may only be a few as there are so many questions you could answer. Will you choose to answer this one?... it will take you just 2 minutes... join in and I’ll connect everyone to everyone as we’re all interested in the same topic and could become lifelong friends!! Me, I’m here for business, would rather socialise in real time.
My own social networking extends to sending out three business newsletters a week, two under Business in Berkshire and one LiaiseOnline. Our own sites are web pages that don’t allow comment. We did have blog pages but the cms is a few years old and so spammers can easily take the micky, so we switched this off. I am part of ecademy, e-consultancy, LinkedIn and net imperative and tend to add content to ecademy weekly, the others rarely. I have decided to put energy into LinkedIn for the next few months as it has greatly improved its functionality and has many professional business members. I really don’t think, if you are running your own business that there are enough hours in the day to keep your eyes on too many forums and actually manage a profitable business. There needs to be a balance. So for me, three is the magic number.
