Easthampstead Park near Wokingham is a beautiful country house with gorgeous gardens. The events manager was friendly and attentive and the rooms on offer were large and flexible. However, as a hotel and conference centre, there would be other events going on at the same time as any wedding, and we did get the feeling that staff's focus would be compromised on the day, and details such as the plasma screens in reception directing guests to the function rooms weren't what we wanted. The New Mill at Eversley is a small venue, and cosy rather than grand, but we felt right at home as soon as we walked though the doors. The old watermill has a great atmosphere, with low ceilings and squashy sofas in the bar. The restaurant looks over the water features in the grounds, which are themselves lush and green, with a great choice of photo locations! For photographers, why not check out Simon O'Sullivan, Shaun Edwards or Brian Parkes for funky snappers who cover Berkshire and surrounding areas. All provide reportage style as well as traditional wedding group photography, but all offer slightly different packages. Whatever stage you're at in planning your Berkshire wedding, enjoy it!
