Planning Berkshire Wedding Bells?
If you're involved in organising a wedding, you know just how time-consuming, stressful and costly it can be. If you're the Bride....may I offer you some Valium?!
Lexicon's Nicola Joyce is newly engaged and currently touring the wedding venues of Berkshire and meeting with the region's wedding suppliers. Why not let read her regular updates of all that Berkshire has to offer the world of weddings? It could prove useful if you're involved in organising a Big Day!
Apart from getting the exciting bling that is the engagement ring (we tried Kaanaanmaa in Wokingham and the Diamond Gallery in Bracknell, both of which make bespoke pieces), the first step will be to view and choose a venue.
Royal Berkshire is teeming with beautiful, historic venues which are simply perfect for wedding celebrations. Why not try the Stirrups Country House Hotel, in Maiden’s Green (licensed for civil ceremonies and set in 10 acres of private grounds), Easthampstead Park near Wokingham (a Victorian mansion which sits amidst lush parkland) or The New Mill at Eversley (with exclusive use guaranteed and a wealth of water features)? There’s also The Vineyard near Newbury (a 5 star venue with Michelin Star chef) or The Swan at Streatley (on the banks of the Thames and offering a moored barge as a ceremony venue), the Sir Christopher Wren in Windsor (overlooking Eton Bridge and sheltering beneath the castle). You could even hire your own private island at the Monkey Island Hotel near Bray (only accessible by footbridge or boat).
In the next few weeks, Nicola will be visiting various wedding venues in Berkshire. If you’re involved in organising a wedding, or interested in what the county has to offer, keep an eye on her regular updates. They’ll give you the lowdown from the comfort of your PC!
