July 2008 - inflight magazine features

Nicola's birthday month of July saw her continue with open-water swim training for her Jersey-to-France solo crossing, alongside maintaining monthly work for regular clients and taking on some new ones.

She submitted a feature for Air Malta's Skylife inflight magazine about open-water swimming on Gozo (the feature will be out in the August issue of the magazine), as well as a feature about open-water swimming around Jersey for BMI's top-end inflight magazine, Voyager. You can read the Voyager feature here , and if you're flying Air Malta or BMI in August you'll be able to see the articles in print.

She continued to provide health and lifestyle magazine Sweet with monthly features about amateur sportspeople but, this month, was contacted by the Editor to urgently carry out a last minute interview with an up-and-coming tennis player. Nicola also provided new triathlon magazine Triathlete's World with a feature, meaning that she's had an article in every issue of the magazine so far.

After one of her early-morning training sessions at a Datchett lake, Nicola spent a day with Jon and Ali Davey (and their little dog Max) working in their glorified shed, helping Jon with various bits of copy for Liaise Online's latest ventures, which include Strategic Product Levitation. Thanks for the sandwiches, Ali!

She wrote regular bits of copy for Business in Berkshire webspace-holders including Windsor Vehicle Leasing and Absolute Health and Safety Solutions, and helped Jon with a couple of new clients.

One of Nicola's favourite copywriting jobs is writing newsletters for companies. In July, she continued to produce regular monthly newsletters for clients including the London Photographic Association and Assorti.

She wrote an online profile for a Spanish fine art photographer's entry on the Gallery 1839 site and wrote the "info" section of a leading architecture and design photographer's website

In amongst all of that lot, she also managed to celebrate her 31st birthday and put in around 60 hours of training in a Datchett lake and Dover harbour for her forthcoming Jersey-to-France solo swim.
