April 2008 - press trip in the sun

April has been a busy but fun month for Nicola. In amongst the deadlines, meetings and trips to the big smoke she flew to Gozo for a week to cover a swim-training camp for a consumer magazine.

Back home, she's filed the copy for 220 Triathlon, and has also written articles for easyjet's Inflight (a piece about the Czech cartoon mole, Krtek), BMI's top-end inflight magazine, Voyager (a piece about open water swimming on Jersey), Fresh Direction (a piece for students about writing CVs) and Triathlete's World, the new triathlon magazine from Runner's World. The latest she heard from Triathlete's World Editor is that they liked her piece so much, the promoted it from a short "how-to" piece at the front of the mag to a full-blown feature right in the middle!

She's working on three conferences for CIBSE and is about to start a big consultancy project with the conference folk at Citywire.

She also wrote a couple of CVs for job-hunters, did some PR work for a marketing agency and wrote online content for some Business in Berkshire clients, via Jon Davey.

She started what will hopefully be a long working relationship with Andrea Williams at Assorti. Nicola will be writing Assorti's monthly e-newsletter (something she really likes doing). Andrea was kind enough to pass on some feedback which she got just days after the April newsletter went out:

"Just to let you know", said Andrea, "I have already have great feedback saying that the newsletter was 'well written' – so thank you!"

There are several magazine pitches in Nicola's drafts folder which she'll get round to sending soon, right after she's met her next deadline.
