December 2009 - snow ho ho |
The end of the year was a busy time for Nicola as she finished off writing projects for new and existing clients and met journalism deadlines before taking a nice amount of time off for Christmas and New Year. How was your New Year break?
With her journalism hat on, Nicola wrote two features for Triathlete's World magazine (one about sleep and recovery, and one about making a living from triathlon) as well as a real-life feature for diabetes wellbeing magazine Sweet. For the newly-launched Women's Running Magazine, she wrote a piece about duathlon (that's running, then biking, then running again). She also did a kit test (of swimming goggles) for 220 Triathlon magazine and wrote a round-up of the Channel swimming season for British Swimming's member magazine the Swimming Times. New clients came on board this month, including Wokingham's first magazine dedicated to family health and fitness, Family Fitness Magazine. Nicola will be writing regularly for FFM. You can read her article - about mountain biking in the Wokingham area - here. Nicola also started working with local digital marketing company Wildfire (she wrote some copy for an email marketing campaign) and The Dial House Hotel (she rewrote their website copy). She was pleased to continue working with existing clients, including Assorti Lifestyle Management, Absolute HSS, Perfect Motion Sports Marketing and Focal Point. The work Nicola did for these clients included a customer newsletter, blog post, social media work and copy for a flyer. Despite the snow, Nicola got out and about in December, going to see comedian Russell Howard at Wembley with her friend Craig and going to see a play at the Royal Court with her BFF Wendy. Christmas was spent at home with husband and dog before all three headed to a quiet coastal spot in Scotland to see in the New Year in a rented cottage with friends and dogs. Happy New Year! |
